Michaela Tabb is a familiar face to the many millions of pool and snooker fans across the globe, as one of the worldfs leading cue sports referees.
A former pool player, Michaela became the first female in history to referee the Final of the Betfred World Snooker Championship, at The Crucible in Sheffield when she took charge of John Higgins and Shaun Murphy in 2009. She refereed her second Final in 2012 between Ali Carter and Ronnie O’Sullivan.Michaela is often referred to as The Lady Ref and The Queen of The Cruciblef.
Michaela set the word of snooker alight when she entered it 2001 and has recorded many firsts throughout her illustrious career. Michaela has been refereeing pool and world-ranking snooker events for just under 15 years, with events all over the world from Australia to China to Las Vegas.
A trailblazer and inspiration to women and men all over the world, Michaela has a story to tell and she is an experienced After Dinner Speaker.
A charity close to Michaelafs heart is the NSPCC, for whom she has twice hosted their Scottish annual dinner.
Michaela lives in Scotland with her husband and two sons, and has to juggle family life with travelling all over the world for her sport. With a strong following on social media, Michaela has fans worldwide and has made national headlines for her skill, her calm control, her sharp eye and her ability to keep order over both the players and the crowd.
