- Either On His Own Or In Tandem With BBC Radio Presenter Garry Richardson
- Lead Commentator On Channel 4’s Iconic Football Italia
Peter began his radio and TV career as a very young sports editor of BBC Radio Brighton in the seventies, before following fellow Brighton fan Des Lynam to BBC National Radio, where he became a presenter and football commentator on Radio 2’s legendary “Sport on 2” .
He also worked for many years as a commentator for ITV and Worldwide TV football programmes, covering several World Cups and around 20 FA cup finals, and interviewing many of sport’s leading personalities.
He was best known, though, for being the lead commentator on Channel 4’s iconic Football Italia from the glory days of Serie A back in the 90’s.
He has also appeared at hundreds of events as an after-dinner speaker, performing twice at the PFA annual awards night, the Football of the Year dinner, and at many other major functions.
In the nineties, Peter joined football legends George Best and Rodney Marsh, along with mimic Mike Osman, for a stage tour around Britain, which included the London Palladium.
He was the “voice” of Jimmy Greaves on the Saint and Greavsie Show when Jimmy was replaced by the Spitting Image puppet one week, and built up a cult following on the Pro Evolution Football computer game for a number of years.
After semi-retiring from TV work recently, Peter has now returned to the after dinner circuit, either on his own or in tandem with BBC radio presenter Garry Richardson, with whom he formed a very successful double act before Peter took a break from speaking to concentrate on his TV commitments.
