- Probably The Best One-Man-Band In The World!
- Toured With Jethro
Bruce Thompson, is probably the best One-Man-Band in the world. Weaned on the thriving ‘folk’ circuit of his native northeast, Bruce has been a unique comedy and musical entertainer for over thirty years.
Appearances on ‘Opportunity Knocks’ and ‘New Faces’ (he pulled the highest number of viewers’ votes ever on the programme) led to a contract with Pye Records and a period as resident musician and contributor to Central TV’s ‘Tiswas’ working alongside Chris Tarrant and Lenny Henry for almost two years.
He was often seen as a guest presenter on BBC Children’s Television and his other appearances have included ‘The Two Ronnies’, ‘Little and Large’, ‘The big Breakfast’, ‘Ant and Dec’ and ‘The Play’ where he taught Zoe Ball to become the second best one-man-band in the world!
He has also appeared with Bruce Forsyth on ‘The Generation Game’, and as the ideal TV Studio warm-up-man on ‘Every Second Counts’, and ‘Blankety Blank’.
He spent over four years touring the U.K. with cult comedian Jethro and is now a regular on cruise ships as a cabaret artist.
The Stage called him ‘Best in his class’ and said ‘his smooth performance smacked of professionalism’.
