Norman Hunter
Norman Hunter was born in Eighton banks, on 24 Oct 1943. Norman played for Barnsley, Bristol City and Leeds United. Normans superb career began back in 1961 and he finished his playing career in 1983. Norman “Bite yer legs” Hunter played a remarkable 724 times for Leeds United, scoring 21 goals.
He went on to play 28 times for England and was a squad member of the famous 66 World Cup winning squad. Norman and the great Jack Charlton were a defensive partnership that clearly laid the foundations of what was to be a great Leeds United era at the late 60s and early 70s under Don Revie. Norman will always be remembered as one of the games great characters.
Norman is still a favourite at Elland Road and can be seen on match days as a Hospitality host. He is also very popular on the “after dinner circuit”. Norman has many a tale and stories to share with you. Highlights of his glittering career include winning The League Cup, The Fairs Cup and PFA Player of The Year Award.
Norman is now a corporate host at Elland Road for Leeds home games and a popular figure on the after dinner circuit.
