John Lukic

John Lukic's career started with his debut in 1979 for Leeds United and he went on to span playing through four decades being only one of four players to achieve this feat, the others being Steve Ogrizovic, Peter Shilton and the legendary Stanley Matthews. John spent his entire career at only two clubs, Leeds and Arsenal and was fortunate to win the league title with both clubs being the only post war goalie to do this with two different teams, the famous Arsenal league win at Anfield in 1989 still lives on in folklore.

His career started just after Brian Clough had left Leeds United and finished under the tutelage of Arsene Wenger at Arsenal. John played more than 650 games -including winning and being runner up in the League Cup and Charity Shield and in 1998 being a member of the Arsenal squad that won the Double.

He set the record in 2000 for being the oldest player to play in the Champions League although that has now been surpassed by some mediocrity among them Alexandra Costacurta and Paulo Maldini !!!!!! and also being the oldest player to play premier league football for Arsenal.

John is available for speaking engagements such as Sporting Dinners to reflect on his career with some great interesting anecdotes from his past.
